GIS Data Technician

This is an excellent opportunity to join the GIS function supporting a nationally significant rail infrastructure programme, working within a specialist team focused on land, property and environmental data across a complex, live project environment.

You ll work with a broad range of geospatial datasets, identifying trends, assuring data quality and producing meaningful outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You ll be part of a collaborative and growing GIS team, contributing to business-as-usual analysis while also responding to ad-hoc and time-critical requests, often working closely with contractors and internal delivery teams.

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a GIS or geospatial role
• Strong experience with Esri GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Enterprise
• Practical experience using Python and/or FME for data manipulation, automation or QA
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets
• Experience presenting GIS outputs to stakeholders or decision-makers

Desirable experience

• Use of Esri extensions such as Spatial Analyst and Network Analyst
• Experience building web applications or dashboards using Portal for ArcGIS
• Integration of GIS outputs into Power BI or ArcGIS Dashboards
• Background in transport, infrastructure or the public sector
