As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you'll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies-like machine learning and AI-to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers' high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors., * Translate customer requirements into clear, structured software specifications.

  • Act as the key interface between customers, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage software development projects, including timeline tracking, milestone setting, and resource coordination.
  • Support and contribute to software design and development in C++, targeting Linux and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations and technical feasibility throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate regular project reviews, updates, and risk assessments.

Requirements

We're seeking a proactive and technically skilled Software Program Manager to bridge the gap between customer needs and software development. In this role, you'll transform customer requests into actionable software specifications, manage project timelines, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders-all while guiding development in C++ on Linux and real-time operating systems., * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Proven experience as a Software Program Manager or Technical Project Manager.
  • Solid understanding of C++ development, especially in Linux and RTOS environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with internal and external customers in a technical context.
  • Fluent in German (minimum B2 level, ideally C1) and proficient in English.
  • Organized, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.
