Job description
To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate: AMHS Hardware Engineer (m/w/d) Become the heart of our fab automation. The Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) will be the nervous system of our fab. As an AMHS Hardware Engineer, you'll be a technical expert, designer, problem-solver, and team leader. You'll ensure that our wafer transport systems (transfer tools, sorters, N2 systems) operate at maximum efficiency.
Job Responsibilities Your Mission: Take the lead on hardware performance and drive technological development:
- System Optimization & Setup: You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of our AMHS hardware.
- In-Depth Troubleshooting: For complex issues, you will conduct root cause analyses (8D, FMEA, SPC) and implement sustainable solutions.
- Project Management: You will lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving productivity, quality, and cost efficiency-from planning through to performance review.
- Technology Scouting: You will evaluate new equipment and materials, work closely with suppliers, and develop in-house hardware solutions to meet operational needs.
- Leadership & Mentoring: You will lead and mentor a team of technicians and junior engineers, share your knowledge, and foster team spirit through clear communication.
- Fab Setup: You will actively assist with installation and coordinate upgrades in close collaboration with other departments.
Requirements
You are a proactive team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is willing to take on responsibility.
- Qualifications: A Master's degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience: Professional experience in the semiconductor industry is required.
- Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of optimization algorithms, control systems, and mechanical automation.
- Methodological skills: Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving.
- Personality: Hands-on mentality, resilience, and the ability to motivate and lead teams professionally.
- Language: Fluent in English (company language). Basic communication skills in Mandarin or German is a plus.
