Job description
Maintain the function of all networking connections and active components: network cards, data outlets, patch leads, hubs, switches, and routers. Manage basic network user maintenance, allocating resources to users and maintaining user, public and shared folders and desktops. Check and if necessary adjust monitor settings each day, and clean monitors and keyboards. Boot systems and pre-load software before lessons as required. Assist in maintaining the Google environment, intranet and website. Assist in managing and monitoring internet filtering. Manage email accounts. Respond to and solve problems relating to software/hardware including internet/intranet access. Assist in looking after multimedia equipment e.g. interactive panels, digital cameras etc. Diagnose and report faults to maintenance contractors. Liaise with contractors in fixing simple faults on or off site. Install and test software for use across a network. Check virus protection and guard against data or system corruption. Check and refill printer toner and cartridges. Maintain stocks of consumables and maintain appropriate records. Maintain a log of all work undertaken.
Requirements
Must have previous IT Helpdesk experience, preferably within a school environment. Must have strong computer literacy and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload. Must have good attention to detail and problem solving skills and be able to work methodically. A DBS Clearance will be required, if cleared within the last 12 months or part of the Update Service, this is an advantage.
