Job description
Alloyed is seeking a collaborative, experienced and motivated individual to join its growing team as IT Manager.
You will work alongside the existing Managed Service Provider, Blue Planet to provide, maintain and develop an optimum and secure IT environment for the whole organisation. You will report to the Head of Data Science and IT.
You will ensure the IT infrastructure meets the highest standards of Cyber security, ensuring certifications are maintained as appropriate - currently Cyber Essentials Plus
You will be responsible for ensuring all external software procurement and ongoing management is optimised, secure and cost effective, with systems including, but not limited to ERP, CAD, Simulation, Project management, HR etc
You will engage heavily with the Director of Core Technology, Software and Data Science to support the development of new IT capabilities critical to the strategic goals of the company.
The role will be varied with a mixture of tactical assessments, service management and delivery, stakeholder engagement, technical recommendation, budgeting and planning. You will manage the Blue Planet relationship and interact with staff from all areas including the offices, laboratory and machine workshops, and must be a confident communicator.
Your duties will require you to regularly work in sites located in both Yarnton and Abingdon so being a car owner/driver is essential. You will also have responsibility for the Seattle site so may need to travel to the US occasionally.
Training will be provided as required, however an excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure approaches and cyber security is expected.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees have access to well maintained, secure and cost appropriate IT equipment including laptops, desktops, virtual machines and mobile devices as required
- Ensure all IT infrastructure is maintained - servers, firewalls, desktops etc
- Ensure all IT Software procurement is coordinated, evaluated and well managed
- Ensure Cyber security and Data protection is well maintained, particularly in the context of Export Control requirements (in both UK and US)
- Ensure the organisation is suitably trained on all elements of IT working in collaboration with the Knowledge & People function on skill assessments and prioritising near and long term demand., The supporting statement should explain why you're interested in the role, and how you meet the selection criteria above using examples of your skills and previous experience. Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Project management?, * Familiarity with Cyber security requirements and certifications

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels
- Exceptional Project management skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills: you are also results-oriented
- UK driving licence

- Evidence of effective management of and collaboration with MSPs
- Proven managerial experience with the ability to lead teams
