Job description

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our growing construction business. This is a roving role, supporting multiple live project sites as well as our Head Office, ensuring that all project documentation is accurately controlled, up to date, and compliant with company and client requirements., * Set up, manage and maintain document control systems for live construction projects

  • Upload, issue, track and archive project documentation in line with project and company procedures
  • Manage document workflows including drawings, specifications, RFIs, technical submissions, method statements, permits, and handover documentation
  • Ensure correct document numbering, revision control and status tracking
  • Distribute documentation to internal teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Liaise closely with site teams, project managers, engineers and external stakeholders
  • Carry out regular audits to ensure document compliance across projects
  • Support project handover and close-out documentation
  • Attend sites and Head Office as required

Requirements

Do you have experience in Record keeping?, This role would suit a highly organised individual with strong construction experience who is comfortable working across different teams and environments. We are open to full-time or part-time working, and flexibility can be offered for the right candidate., The successful candidate must have experience using construction document management portals, including but not limited to:

  • DocHosting
  • 4Projects / Viewpoint
  • Aconex
  • SharePoint

Experience with multiple systems is essential, as projects may operate on different platforms.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry
  • Strong preference for experience with a civil engineering or infrastructure subcontractor
  • Excellent understanding of construction documentation processes
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident working across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with site and office teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively

Desirable

  • Experience working on civils, infrastructure or heavy construction projects
  • Familiarity with ISO-compliant document control systems
  • Ability to travel between sites independently
