Job description

We're supporting a large, complex organisation on a major data platform consolidation and migration programme. The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in mapping data lineage and provenance across multiple existing data platforms, supporting the move to a single, consolidated data platform.

This is a hands-on role working closely with architecture, engineering, testing, and business stakeholders, ensuring data flows, integrations, and reporting logic are clearly understood, documented, and ready to be rebuilt or enhanced on the new platform.

The environment is fast-paced and evolving, so this role suits someone comfortable operating in low-to-medium data maturity environments, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum., * Analyse and document data lineage and provenance across multiple data platforms.

  • Identify and document data integrations between internal and external systems.
  • Produce clear design documentation, data models, and lineage diagrams (Confluence).
  • Work with test teams to validate current and future data lineage.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to assess system impacts of proposed data models.
  • Contribute to options papers outlining technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Support migration readiness by ensuring reporting logic can be reproduced or enhanced on the new platform.
  • Collaborate across architecture, engineering, analytics, and testing squads.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Senior Data Analyst in complex environments.
  • Excellent understanding of data lineage, provenance, and data integration.
  • Advanced SQL and Python for data preparation and analysis.
  • Strong Power BI experience (data modelling, DAX, Power Query, performance optimisation).
  • Experience working with AWS data services.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (queries, clusters, environments).
  • Experience delivering predictive models and time-series forecasting.
  • Proven ability to translate analysis into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Comfortable producing documentation, models, and design artefacts to a high standard.

Desirable

  • Experience building POCs and taking them through to production.
  • Familiarity with version control, QA processes, and release management.
  • Experience working on data platform migrations or consolidations.
