Job description

  • Offer telephone support and provide excellent service to customers
  • Understand the operation of our bespoke software systems
  • Learn our applications and seek improvements in reliability and performance
  • Provide customer support on our systems
  • Remotely connect to customer sites to repair issues
  • Phone customers to explain functions and resolve problems

  • Linux, We have an excellent opportunity for a Helpdesk professional to join our 1st class IT client based North of Peterborough. Our company really values its staff, and you will be part of a fun, professional, and friendly team. The role operates Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 35-hour working week and a requirement for some out-of-hours support, possibly 1 in 7-10 weekends. We offer 25 working days of holiday plus statutory leave, a Life Assurance Scheme equivalent to 4 times your annual salary, bonuses based on performance, and a contributory Group Personal Pension Plan. We are committed to staff development and training.

Requirements

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Technical background in an IT Helpdesk role
  • Recent IT or Computer Graduate with some customer service skills considered
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system and databases (useful but not essential)
  • Professional manner and approach
  • Confident communicator (verbal, written, and listening skills)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Strong work ethic with high standards of self-discipline
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management and prioritization
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent IT literacy
