Job description

  • Take calls from customers regarding IT queries and provide solutions
  • Understand and improve the operation of bespoke software systems
  • Resolve customer issues by remotely connecting to customer sites
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain causes and solutions
  • Participate in the out of hours support rota (approximately 1 week in 8)
  • Escalate issues to the line manager according to procedure
  • Maintain high-quality call logging for clarity in issue tracking
  • Liaise with customers in a professional manner at all times
  • Participate in ongoing training as systems evolve
  • Ensure a tidy and professional working environment
  • Keep technical knowledge up to date

Requirements

  • Strong general educational qualifications
  • Proven IT helpdesk support experience or equivalent customer service experience
  • Excellent IT literacy with fast, accurate keyboard skills
  • Confident and clear communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Demonstrable organizational skills, including time management and prioritization
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Motivation to learn and adapt to evolving systems and features
  • Professional demeanor and approach
