Job description

We are seeking a Data Analyst with strong Yellowfin BI experience to support reporting, analytics, and insight delivery across the business. This role will focus on transforming data into meaningful dashboards, reports, and narratives that enable data-driven decision-making for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will work closely with business teams, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, model data appropriately, and deliver high-quality visual analytics using Yellowfin as the primary BI platform.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight

  • Analyse structured data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for business users.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests and deeper investigative analysis as required.

Yellowfin BI Development

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and storyboards using Yellowfin.
  • Develop KPI frameworks, metrics, and analytical views aligned to business objectives.
  • Optimise existing Yellowfin reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Apply best practice around data visualisation, storytelling, and user experience.

Data Modelling & SQL

  • Work with data engineers or directly with databases to create efficient data models for reporting.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reconciliation across reports.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Present insights and findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Support data literacy by helping users understand and interpret reports and dashboards.

Governance & Quality

  • Apply data governance, security, and access controls within Yellowfin.
  • Document reports, metrics definitions, and data sources.
  • Support testing, validation, and release of new analytics content.

Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to work in the specified location

MUST have Yellowfin BI experience., Essential

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst using Yellowfin BI in a commercial environment.
  • Strong SQL skills (eg SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar).
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, and KPIs for business users.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (eg Azure, AWS, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience working in agile or product-led delivery teams.
  • Exposure to data governance, security, or regulatory reporting.
