  • Define and implement best practices around Snowflake performance tuning, cost optimisation, and data governance.
  • Oversee integration of Snowflake with wider cloud ecosystems (Azure/AWS/GCP depending on programme).
  • Work with data engineers to modernise existing Legacy pipelines into secure, scalable Snowflake based solutions.
  • Create architectural documentation, patterns, standards, and reference designs suitable for public sector environments.
  • Ensure all data solutions meet security, compliance, and audit requirements aligned to SC/DV cleared environments.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and support across multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in data modelling, Cloud Data Warehousing, and ELT frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Snowflake configuration & security
  • Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Stages
  • Performance optimisation & cost control
  • SQL, Python, dbt (advantageous)
  • Experience working in public sector or other highly regulated environments.
  • Good knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Active SC Clearance.

Desirable

  • DV Clearance
  • Experience with Databricks, Spark, or broader data platform tooling
  • CICD experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills
