Job description

A leading, independent London law firm with an international client base is growing its Lawtech capability and is hiring two Legal Technology and Innovation Managers to help shape how legal services are delivered through technology, data, and smarter processes.

This is a senior, highly visible role at the heart of legal innovation - working across practice areas, knowledge teams, IT and directly with clients to design, prototype and roll out legal technology solutions that enhance service delivery and client experience. The opportunity

Emerging legal technologies and new ways of working are transforming how legal services are delivered. This team sits at the centre of that change; combining people, process, technology and data to drive smarter legal operations, improved collaboration and new client offerings.

You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, implementing solutions and driving adoption of tools such as AI and GenAI, document automation, collaboration platforms, process automation, expert systems, knowledge tools and data visualisation across both internal teams and client engagements. Role responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with legal practices and business services teams to identify opportunities for lawtech solutions
  • Design, prototype and implement legal technology solutions for internal and client use
  • Lead adoption and engagement across practice areas through training, demos, and ongoing support
  • Manage and deliver internal lawtech and innovation projects
  • Engage with vendors to assess and introduce new technologies
  • Support client pitches and work directly with clients on technology-enabled legal services
  • Horizon scan the legal technology market and provide thought leadership
  • Collaborate with knowledge, IT, and legal teams to embed solutions into legal workflows
  • Supervise and develop junior team members
  • Contribute to the growth, strategy, and brand of the Lawtech function

Requirements

  • Must have 5+ years' experience working closely with lawyers, partners, and senior stakeholders to drive technology adoption
  • Experience delivering and administering legal technologies such as:
  • AI and GenAI tools (eg Harvey, Legora, Microsoft Copilot, Kira)
  • Collaboration platforms (eg HighQ, SharePoint)
  • Document automation (eg Contract Express)
  • Process automation & robotics (eg Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
  • Expert systems (eg Bryter, Neota Logic, Power Automate)
  • Data visualisation tools (eg PowerBI)
  • Strong project and process management experience (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma or similar)
  • Understanding of the life cycle of a legal matter
  • Experience engaging directly with clients on technology-enabled solutions
  • Confident communicator able to lead meetings and influence at all levels
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior colleagues
  • Organised, analytical and solutions-focused with a genuine interest in legal innovation
