Job description

Our client require an experienced interim Payroll Transition Manager to take ownership of the final phase of this transition, ensuring data accuracy, process readiness, stakeholder alignment, and a smooth go-live, ideally by March.

  • Complete an outsourcing transition with full ownership and autonomy.
  • Hybrid working, Payroll Outsourcing Transition
  • Lead and manage the final stage of the end-to-end transition from partial outsourcing to fully outsourced payroll delivery.
  • Coordinate parallel runs, data validation, and readiness checks.
  • Work closely with the new provider, challenging where necessary and ensuring all input templates, processes, and handover documentation are correct.

Data & Compliance

  • Oversee data migration, retention requirements, cleansing, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain strict compliance standards and ensure statutory accuracy.

Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement

  • Act as the main contact between internal stakeholders and the outsourced provider.
  • Identify risk areas, troubleshoot issues, and push back on timelines when necessary to ensure a successful go-live.
  • Support a business environment influenced by start-up culture, where some processes may be basic.

Project Management

  • Own the transition plan and timeline with the goal of achieving go-live in March.
  • Provide structure, discipline, and clarity to stakeholders in a relaxed, less formal operational environment.

Requirements

  • Strong background in payroll operations, particularly outsourcing transitions.
  • Highly disciplined, diligent, and rules-focused.
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and an understanding of "what good looks like."
  • Confident managing complex data sets and identifying issues quickly.
  • Effective communicator with solid stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working with limited structure and bringing order to evolving processes.
  • Self-starter who thrives in remote environments with minimal oversight.
