Job description
We're looking for a dynamic IT Manager to lead our technology function and ensure smooth, reliable delivery of all IT services across the business. You'll own everything from helpdesk performance and infrastructure (cloud + on-prem) to application support and specialised engineering systems.
This role needs a strategic thinker who loves driving innovation, shaping an IT roadmap, and keeping the business ahead of emerging technology-while staying hands-on enough to keep daily operations running flawlessly.
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop the Team
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing IT team.
- Build a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Plan resources, skills, and capacity to meet business needs.
Own IT Service Delivery
- Define and deliver the IT strategy, roadmap, and budgets.
- Ensure systems, networks, and applications are available, secure, scalable, and compliant.
- Drive high-quality, customer-focused IT support aligned with ITIL best practice.
- Maintain accurate licensing, service health, and operational reporting.
Keep the Business Running Smoothly
- Manage risks, incidents, and outages with speed and clarity.
- Oversee out-of-hours communication and support coordination.
- Partner with stakeholders across engineering, production, projects, and operations.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to modernise systems, processes, and tools.
- Lead IT projects from concept to delivery.
- Leverage new technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Support Commercial Growth
- Provide technical input for bids and proposals.
- Manage contracts, vendors, and third-party service providers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Manager leading teams and services.
- Strong technical background across hybrid (cloud/on-prem) environments.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and IT projects.
- Excellent communication skills - able to simplify complexity and influence decisions.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service management tools.
- Degree in Computing/Information Security or equivalent.
- Eligible for SC-level security vetting.
- Certifications (ITIL, CISA, CISSP) are a plus.
