Job description

We're looking for a dynamic IT Manager to lead our technology function and ensure smooth, reliable delivery of all IT services across the business. You'll own everything from helpdesk performance and infrastructure (cloud + on-prem) to application support and specialised engineering systems.

This role needs a strategic thinker who loves driving innovation, shaping an IT roadmap, and keeping the business ahead of emerging technology-while staying hands-on enough to keep daily operations running flawlessly.

What You'll Do

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing IT team.
  • Build a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan resources, skills, and capacity to meet business needs.

Own IT Service Delivery

  • Define and deliver the IT strategy, roadmap, and budgets.
  • Ensure systems, networks, and applications are available, secure, scalable, and compliant.
  • Drive high-quality, customer-focused IT support aligned with ITIL best practice.
  • Maintain accurate licensing, service health, and operational reporting.

Keep the Business Running Smoothly

  • Manage risks, incidents, and outages with speed and clarity.
  • Oversee out-of-hours communication and support coordination.
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, production, projects, and operations.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to modernise systems, processes, and tools.
  • Lead IT projects from concept to delivery.
  • Leverage new technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Support Commercial Growth

  • Provide technical input for bids and proposals.
  • Manage contracts, vendors, and third-party service providers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an IT Manager leading teams and services.
  • Strong technical background across hybrid (cloud/on-prem) environments.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and IT projects.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to simplify complexity and influence decisions.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service management tools.
  • Degree in Computing/Information Security or equivalent.
  • Eligible for SC-level security vetting.
  • Certifications (ITIL, CISA, CISSP) are a plus.
