SAP S/4HANA HR Consultant
9-month contract Remote work with occasional travel within UK and Europe Inside IR35 contract

About the Role We are seeking an experienced SAP S4 HANA HR Consultant with deep functional expertise across Time Management, Attendance/Absence Management, CATS/CTR, and SuccessFactors integrations. This role requires an excellent balance of functional knowledge, consulting capability, and workshop leadership. The consultant will work closely with HR, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver high-quality functional solutions, detailed specifications, and end-to-end process definition within a regulated, high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities
- CATS (Cross-Application Time Sheets) / CTR (Consolidated Time Recording)
- Configure CATS profiles, layouts, business rules, workflows, and approval processes.
- Support HR, Payroll, CO, and PS-related timesheet processes.
- Lead solution testing, defect management, and deployment of improved timesheet functionality.
- Advise on governance, compliance, and user experience optimisation.
- SAP S4 HANA HR - Attendance & Absence Management
- Analyse and translate business requirements for absence management.
- Configure core Absence Management components.
- Support end-to-end lifecycle: entry, approvals, calculations, reporting, troubleshooting.
- Act as subject matter expert during workshops, fit/gap, and functional decision stages.
- SAP S4 HANA HR - Attendance & Work Schedules
- Configure attendance types, validations, and recording rules.
- Build and optimise Work Schedule Rules, shift models, and daily/weekly schedules.
- Ensure accurate Time Evaluation processing, including overtime and exception handling.
- SuccessFactors Integration
- Support integration design between SAP Time Management and SuccessFactors (Time Tracking, EC, Time Off, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors and synchronisation issues.
Consulting & Delivery Skills Soft Consulting Skills
- Clear and confident communication with HR, business, and IT stakeholders.
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability and the skill to simplify complex concepts.
- Proactive, self-starter approach to issue resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-moving or regulated environments.
Workshop Leadership
- Lead solution workshops and process walkthroughs.
- Prepare professional materials including slides, process maps, and decision logs.
- Drive alignment, capture decisions, risks, and actions.
Documentation & Functional Specification Writing
- Produce high-quality Functional Specifications, configuration guides, process flows, and test cases.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure clarity, testability, and alignment to architecture standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
