Lead Android Engineer - Remote EU

For a long-term project with one of our marquee clients (a category-leading CRM company), DNA.inc is looking for a Lead Android Engineer to guide a team of talented, international developers. You'll work closely with client teams - engineers, designers, and product specialists - to strengthen their internal capabilities and deliver robust, quality-driven platforms.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you'll spend most of your time designing, building, reviewing, and improving Android applications, while also providing day-to-day technical guidance to the team.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with other engineers to build high-quality, reliable Android applications for one of DNA.inc's largest clients.

While the project we are currently recruiting for sits in the CRM domain, DNA.inc works with clients across multiple industries, including streaming, fintech, and automotive. We maintain long-term client relationships, and the goal is always to create sustained, next-level work for everyone involved.

As a Lead Android Engineer, we will look to you to:

• Take technical ownership of Android features and subsystems
• Act as the day-to-day technical lead for the Android team
• Work closely with client engineers and product stakeholders
• Balance delivery, quality, and maintainability in a large, evolving codebase
• Help raise the overall Android engineering bar through example, feedback, and mentorship, * Kotlin and Java
• Android SDK and Jetpack components
• Modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
• Modular, reusable, and testable Android components
• Performance optimization, memory management, and battery efficiency

It would be awesome if you can also bring expertise in subjects such as:

• Android UI frameworks (Compose, Views)
• Data persistence (Room, DataStore, Core Data equivalents)
• Media playback and streaming (audio and/or video)
• In-app purchases and monetization flows
• Localization and internationalization
• Large modularized Android codebases
• Design systems and reusable UI patterns, * Opportunities to learn from and collaborate with accomplished engineers and designers
• A clear growth path, whether you prefer to deepen your craft or move into leadership

Do you have experience in UI?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, To be considered for this role, you are expected to operate comfortably at Lead level, combining strong individual contribution with practical team leadership.

You have 5+ years of proven experience with:

• Leading Android engineers through small to medium-sized client projects
• Acting as either the senior developer or stepping into a team leadership role
• Making sound technical and architectural decisions within an existing Android ecosystem
• Balancing delivery, quality, and maintainability in large, evolving codebases
• Reviewing code and providing actionable feedback that elevates team practices
• Delivering high-quality Android experiences for large audiences
