We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our team for a part-time role, working three days a week within the education sector. We are a managed service provider who prides ourselves on becoming trusted and valued members of our client community - and looking for an engineer who can keep communicative standards high, as well as provide excellent and prompt service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys busy support, working in a school environment and supporting users with their technology needs. You will represent our company with a friendly, can-do attitude, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and support.
This role will work at client sites in Winchester and Southampton, with periodic remote work from home - though this will work around on site visits., * Provide face-to-face IT support to teachers and school staff, helping them effectively use technology in their daily activities, supporting use of desktops, laptops, tablets, audio visual.
- Act as a positive representative of our company, fostering strong relationships within the school community.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other common educational technologies.
- Escalate complex issues to our remote support team while maintaining clear and effective communication with the client.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment within the school, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative environment, always aiming to enhance the user experience.
- Travel between different school sites as required (mileage will be reimbursed).
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Technical support?, * Proven experience in IT support, particularly in a customer-facing role, or transferable skills with a willingness to learn.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint, or applicable skills that could be adapted.
- Basic understanding of server technologies such as Active Directory is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience supporting laptops, desktops, tablets and printers.
- A positive, proactive approach with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently within your skill set and escalate issues when necessary.
- A clean enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Desirable Qualities:
- Previous experience working in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with school-specific IT systems and software.
- A flexible approach to working hours and locations., * The ability to travel between sites is beneficial, and mileage will be reimbursed., * Technical support: 1 year (preferred)
