Job description

Allstaff Professional Services Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Data Analyst. An established organisation in the engineering and manufacturing sector is seeking a commercially minded Data Analyst to support business operations from their site in Cambuslang. This role focuses on extracting, analysing, and transforming MRP and operational data into meaningful insights and intuitive Power BI reports to support data-driven decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Operations, the Data Analyst will play a key role in improving visibility of performance, identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insight

  • Analyse MRP data relating to materials, production, inventory, demand planning, capacity, and lead times

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within operational and manufacturing data

  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

  • Support root cause analysis for issues such as stock shortages, excess inventory, or production inefficiencies Reporting & Power BI

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports

  • Ensure reports are accurate, visually intuitive, and aligned to business KPIs

  • Build automated and self-service reporting solutions

  • Continuously improve existing reports based on feedback and evolving needs

  • Support standardisation of core reports and metrics across sites Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with department leads to understand reporting requirements

  • Act as a trusted data partner across various teams

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly

  • Support effective use of reports for decision-making Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across dashboards

  • Document data definitions, metrics, and logic

  • Support improvements in data flows and reporting processes

  • Highlight and help resolve data quality issues Skills & Experience Essential

Requirements

  • Experience in a Data Analyst or BI role within manufacturing or engineering

  • Confident working with MRP / ERP data (e.g. materials, BOMs, routings, inventory)

  • Advanced Power BI and data modelling skills

  • SQL skills for data extraction and transformation

  • Clear communicator with strong attention to detail Desirable

  • Knowledge of engineering or discrete manufacturing

  • Familiarity with production planning, supply chain or inventory principles

  • Experience working with large, complex datasets

  • Exposure to continuous improvement or lean initiatives
