Job description
We are seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our IT team, responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising the college's IT infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic support, ensuring reliable and secure IT systems for staff and students. You will contribute to projects that implement modern technologies while supporting and enhancing existing infrastructure across all college sites. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, backup and connectivity across all college sites.
- Provide advanced third-line IT support for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and excellent service.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including servers, network devices, printers, and audio-visual systems, carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure the security, stability, and compliance of all IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Contribute to IT projects, implementing modern, scalable solutions and documenting systems, processes, and resolutions.
Requirements
? Relevant technical or IT-related qualifications (industry certifications or academic degrees) ? At least 2-3 years' experience managing and deploying PCs, IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, and end-user devices, using tools such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro, or similar ? Strong experience working in Microsoft-based network environments, with solid knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, audiovisual systems, switches, routers, and other network hardware ? Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, or similar) and SAN storage solutions ? Proven experience supporting IT operations within a Helpdesk or Service Desk environment ? A passion for IT infrastructure, systems reliability, and enabling seamless technology for users.
