Job description
This is a hands-on Technical Data Analyst role where your work will be used every day. You will be responsible for producing clear reporting, digging into complex datasets, and building technical solutions that go beyond standard BI tools when needed.
You will work with open banking data, credit reports and CRM data to identify patterns that improve how we assess cases, target lenders and measure performance. When questions cannot be answered with Excel or dashboards alone, you will write Python to get to the right answer.
This role is visible and collaborative. You will share your findings directly with senior leadership and operational teams, helping them understand what the data shows and what action should follow. You will also play a key role in improving how data is structured and used as the business continues to grow.
What the role involves
- Creating and maintaining dashboards in Power BI and Zoho Analytics
- Producing regular management information on volumes, conversions, success rates and team performance
- Responding to ad hoc data requests from across the business
- Writing Python scripts to analyse large datasets that cannot be handled in Excel
- Working with complex data formats, including credit report and open banking data
- Developing and improving scoring and prediction models for claims and lenders
- Extracting, cleaning and transforming data from Zoho CRM and other systems
- Presenting analysis and recommendations to non technical stakeholders
- Keeping data definitions and documentation clear and up to date
Requirements
Do you have experience in Tableau?, * Strong Python skills and confidence building scripts independently
- Experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or Zoho Analytics
- Advanced Excel skills and good working knowledge of SQL
- Comfort working with imperfect, real-world data
- A logical approach to debugging and validating outputs
- The ability to explain data clearly to people without a technical background
- Good judgement and a willingness to challenge results that do not make sense
- We expect you to be comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar to speed up your work, while still fully understanding and checking the output.
- Experience in financial services, claims management or a regulated environment would be helpful but is not essential.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or consumer credit data is also an advantage.
Benefits & conditions
- £40,000 to £48,000 salary depending on experience
- Hybrid working with flexibility around office and home working
- A role with direct exposure to senior decision makers
- The opportunity to influence how data is used in a growing business
- A practical environment where analysis is acted on, not ignored
If you enjoy being hands-on, working with complex data and seeing your analysis make a real difference, we would like to hear from you.
