Job description
As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for IT incidents raised by our customers via phone or email. You will be responsible for logging and managing tickets, diagnosing issues, delivering 1st line fixes, and escalating where necessary. Throughout the process, you will work closely with the wider technical team and ensure customers receive timely updates and excellent service., * Provide 1st line support via phone, email, and remote tools.
- Log, triage, and manage support tickets through to resolution or escalation.
- Provide remote support for hardware, software, and printer issues.
- Assist with network connectivity issues involving LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless configurations.
- Support desktop support tasks such as installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software.
- Perform daily system checks, including backup monitoring and reporting.
- Support clients across a range of technologies including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and networking equipment.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites when required (own car desirable).
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain clear communication throughout ticket lifecycles.
The successful candidate will ideally have a broad set of technical skills & experience in the following areas: -
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in macOS?, This role requires strong organisational skills, outstanding communication, and a passion for delivering high-quality IT support., * Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar 1st line role or MSP environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server (2012-2025), and Active Directory.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure,
- Experience using remote desktop environments, and remote desktop support tools (TeamViewer, Screen Connect).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Experience with:
- VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation
- Backup technologies
- VoIP systems
- macOS
- Security products such as Sophos, Mimecast, Acronis
- Full UK Driving Licence
