Job description
The Platform Engineering Lead is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and services that power our digital platform. This role ensures scalability, reliability, and security across all platform components, enabling seamless delivery of digital products and services. The position requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, architecture, and product teams.
Mission for Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS):
- Deliver a developer-centric platform that accelerates application delivery through automation, self-service, and standardized environments.
- Provide secure, scalable, and resilient PaaS capabilities to enable rapid innovation while maintaining compliance and governance.
- Foster operational excellence by embedding observability, cost optimization, and continuous improvement into platform services.
- Enable multi-cloud and hybrid strategies to support flexibility and business continuity.
- Drive DevSecOps adoption by integrating security and compliance into the platform lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Platform Architecture & Design
- Define and evolve the platform architecture to support business growth and digital transformation.
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance across all platform services.
- Engineering Leadership
- Lead a team of platform engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development.
- Establish best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native development.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee cloud environments and optimize resource utilization.
- Implement robust monitoring, observability, and incident response frameworks.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure platform security through identity management, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce governance and risk management policies.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with product owners, application teams, and enterprise architects to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Communicate technical strategies and roadmaps to senior leadership, The role - Your daily activities will be interesting, stimulating and varied... No two days are alike!
Requirements

Strong experience in cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of networking, security, and distributed systems.

Leadership & Communication

Proven ability to lead engineering teams and drive complex initiatives.

Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience

8+ years in platform engineering or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

Experience in building and operating large-scale digital platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and observability tools
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies.
- Understanding of cost optimization and FinOps principles.
