Job description

Data strategy involves transforming the way our clients think about, organise and utilise data and technology to support their challenges and ambitions. As a data strategist, you will work on our most strategic accounts, building and driving the overall design of data inputs/outputs and effectively communicating data and technology growth strategies to internal stakeholders and clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to develop Mindshare's approach to digital transformation, assessing client's data maturity, building data strategy roadmaps and identifying what's needed to take them to the next level
  • Working with Planning and Research teams leveraging data to help ensure clients reach their target audience, building an audience data strategy across 1st/2nd/3rd-party datasets
  • Working with relevant teams to design, deploy and maintain the AdTech & MarTech infrastructure you require to set your clients up for success
  • Delivering AI solutions that help drive successful data strategies for our clients - facilitated by WPP Open, our AI-enabled media and data platform
  • Ensuring a high level of data quality and defining roles and responsibilities around data governance on your accounts
  • Working cross-functionally with Planning, Live Planning, Outcomes and Client Leadership to create, drive and embed client data strategies and test & learn initiatives
  • Harnessing relationships with peers across WPP Media as well as key data & technology providers to create best practice, develop data partnerships and leverage solutions within the market
  • Research & development to ensure Mindshare stays at the forefront of the domain
  • Supporting new business pitches and attending internal & external events

Requirements

While this is not a hands-on technical role, you will have a technical background and be able to talk confidently about data & technology in a media context.

You will have significant client-facing experience, with an ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences and to drive project success in fluid environments through collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Your experience will also have included a mix of:

  • Client-facing experience in a consulting, strategy or operations context
  • Building and driving strategy in data, technology or analytics
  • Activation of advertiser first-party data in media across a variety of use-cases
  • Extracting value and insight from advertiser media/marketing datasets
  • Customer journey analytics - evaluating, designing and optimising tagging and tracking set-ups across web and app environments
  • Working with a variety of 2nd/3rd party data sets (panel, digital behaviour, retailer, geospatial etc.) and vendors to inform media strategies
  • Building measurement frameworks, testing plans & learning agendas
  • Working with advertising technology platforms (Ad servers, DSPs, CMPs, Tag Managers, Search, Social, Verification etc.)
  • Working with marketing technology platforms (Web Analytics, CDPs, DMPs, CRMs, Clean Rooms, MMPs etc.)
