Job description
We're looking for a skilled and motivated ICT Technician to join our expanding team in the Bradford area. This role involves providing day-to-day IT support across a cluster of primary schools, with a rota-based schedule that ensures coverage and continuity across all sites.
You will be based at one main site, with regular travel to surrounding schools in the area to support end-users, troubleshoot issues, and maintain IT systems. You'll work closely with our 1st and 3rd line teams and contribute to delivering a high standard of IT support within an educational environment., * Deliver on-site technical support at a primary school and rotate across a cluster of nearby schools as scheduled.
- Provide 1st line support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Install and configure IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom AV systems.
- Troubleshoot common issues with Windows, Office 365, and general networking (DNS, DHCP, file permissions).
- Maintain school IT systems including updates, backups, and user account management via Active Directory.
- Assist with mobile device management, including Apple and Windows-based systems.
- Collaborate with AIT's wider technical team to escalate complex issues when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment used, and issues resolved.
- Travel between sites as part of a scheduled support rota (mileage covered where applicable).
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in VoIP?, * Installation and configuration of IT hardware and software
- Microsoft Windows 10 and above
- Experience with Windows Server (2012 R2 and above)
- Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
- Office 365 admin experience, including Exchange Online and PowerShell
- Hardware and basic networking troubleshooting skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting Capita SIMS
- Familiarity with Apple devices and MDM solutions
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup, Microsoft Azure, and Ubiquiti networks
- Understanding of VoIP, IP CCTV, and access control systems (e.g. Paxton), * Minimum 2 years' experience in a 1st line or school-based IT support role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and manage time across multiple locations
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
- Friendly, calm, and professional attitude when working with staff and students
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development

Qualifications Required
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above
OR
- Equivalent professional IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft certification)
