Job description

Design and execute a repeatable post-merger integration and change framework that turns closed transactions into realized value.

You will:

  • Develop a scalable post-merger integration model (Day 0 through Day 365) with phased milestones and clear accountability
  • Build a structured integration playbook (people, process, systems, culture, clients, brand) that deploys on every acquisition
  • Design a standardized Day 1 readiness framework (legal entity transitions, payroll continuity, IT access, client communication, key person retention)
  • Create a cultural integration architecture (values alignment, leadership onboarding, team identity design, resistance navigation)
  • Structure retention and incentive programs for key talent and critical knowledge holders
  • Lead alignment across acquiring leadership, target management, and frontline teams simultaneously
  • Create a clear synergy tracking framework (revenue synergies, cost synergies, operational efficiencies) tied to the original deal model
  • Develop a client and supplier continuity protocol (relationship transfer, contract novation sequencing, service level protection)
  • Define a standard integration performance framework (talent retention rates, client retention rates, synergy realization velocity, cultural health indicators)
  • Create a communication and change sequencing playbook (internal announcement cascade, external messaging, FAQ frameworks, manager toolkits, town hall design)
  • Build the integration narrative (value protection, people-first approach, operational continuity proof points) for investors, boards, and financing parties

The objective is to transform post-deal chaos into an institutional-grade integration platform with repeatable mechanics that protect and accelerate deal value across every acquisition.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Leadership?, You bring deep experience in: * Post-merger integration program management * Organizational change management in M&A contexts * Cultural integration and leadership alignment * Talent retention strategy during ownership transitions * Synergy identification, tracking, and realization * Stakeholder management across buyer, target, and external parties * Client and commercial continuity during transitions, Senior-level exposure to post-merger integration and change management across multiple transactions (10+ years) * Hands-on execution mindset (no integration-plan-only or advisory-only profile) * Ability to translate deal rationale into a human-centered integration program that actually delivers the promised value

Languages: Dutch and English required, Experience supporting serial acquirers or buy-and-build platforms with repeatable integration frameworks * Established relationships within the Dutch HR, employment law, and organizational consultancy ecosystem * Experience integrating SMEs where founder dependency and cultural identity are high-risk factors * Track record managing works council (OR) engagement and Dutch employment law implications during integrations * Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and operational system consolidation as part of integration programs
