Job description

Provide technical and systems support to users of the NEC integrated housing management system.

Maximise use of NEC system functionality and deliver bespoke reports to meet business needs.

Support and guide users, contributing to a multidisciplinary team and embedding Council values and behaviours.

Assist with system upgrades, configuration changes, data integrity, and business process improvements.
-
Act as a liaison between users, suppliers, ICT, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

Provide hands-on support for NEC modules including Scheduler, Allocations, and Service Charge.

Customise and configure NEC system to meet management and operational requirements.

Develop, produce, and maintain reports, including using Power BI where applicable.

Manage batch processes, letters, printed outputs, and data integrity tasks.
-
Support testing, upgrades, and acceptance of system changes, including impact analysis.

Monitor supplier performance and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
-
Facilitate service improvement workshops and training for users.
-
Produce guidance notes, user manuals, and documentation.
-
Provide cover for Electronic Business Applications Support Manager when required.

Promote continuous improvement, compliance, and collaboration across services and stakeholders.
Requirements

Strong experience in IT applications support, ideally in housing or local government services.
-
Hands-on experience with NEC Housing system and back-end configuration.
-
Experience in Power BI, Oracle SQL, and database reporting.
-
Ability to support multiple stakeholders and users, providing technical guidance.
-
Knowledge of IT service management principles (ITIL) and project management methodologies (Prince2, MSP, Agile, SCRUM).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
-
Experience working in ICT/digital services for 5+ years.
-
Excellent communication, coaching, and team collaboration skills.

Understanding of local government and housing service operations.
Additional Information:

Location: Observatory House, Slough - Hybrid working.
-
Hours: 37 per week (09:00-17:30).
-
Focus on support not implementation.
Hands on experience with backend support and customising NEC core modules- Scheduler, Allocations, Service charge.

Experience of Power BI, ideally in conjunction with the NEC Housing database (Nice to have).

Strong Technical skills including the ability to write Oracle SQL.
