Job description
As a Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst, you will assist in the smooth running of the ICT Infrastructure team, providing a secure and reliable ICT environment for Assembly Members, Party Support and Secretariat staff located in Parliament Buildings, as well as for MLA constituency offices located throughout Northern Ireland. A major part of this role will focus on the areas of server and network management., *Providing technical support and advice to customers, taking enquiries in person, by phone and email;
*Diagnosing and resolving customer's problems effectively and efficiently, following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues;
*Classifying and prioritising problems, documenting their causes and implementing remedies and preventative measures;
*Identifying and analysing broader technical and system issues, helping to find appropriate solutions including consulting internal and external specialists where required;
*Patching and updating MS Windows Server 2012 (or later) operating systems running in a Windows Hyper-V 2019 environment and other software and liaising with other IS Office teams to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place;
*Supporting and managing services in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
*Supporting the delivery of in house developed applications, using Microsoft technology (such as Dev Op pipelines, Company Portal).
*Managing and configuring TCP/IP network equipment such as switches;
*Managing and maintaining MS Exchange 2016 (or later) on premise email and cloud based MS Office365 email systems including management of mailboxes, mailbox permissions and distribution lists;
*Managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft cloud identity,
*investigate system alerts and provide response
*Planning for disaster recovery and creating contingency plans in the event of any security breaches;
*Assisting in the development and maintenance of standard Windows 10 (or later) device configurations to ensure the security and integrity of Assembly information systems and services;
*Supporting secure remote access.
*Support smart devices.
*Building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to provide advice, guidance and challenge on issues within the area of responsibility;
*Complying with all of the Assembly Commission's staff policies and procedures including Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and procedures and all mandatory training requirements;
*Managing information and records in accordance with established policies and statutory requirements; and
*You may also be required to carry out other duties that the Assembly Commission reasonably requires of you.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Applicants for the post of Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst must, by the closing date for applications:
(a) Possess at least a HND in computing or other discipline relevant to
Information & Communications Technology, AND
Have at least 1 years' experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support/Service Desk environment;
NB: Only those courses with a computing content of 50% or more will be considered, and applicants must give full details on the application form of how the content of the course meets this requirement.
(Note: Applications will also be considered from candidates with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to that stated.)
OR
(b) Have at least 3 years' experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support/Service Desk environment.
NB: Experience at (a) or (b) can include time spent as part of a work placement.
(c) Applicants will be expected to demonstrate on their application form and at interview at least one year's experience in of the following
skills. Applicants should explain how and to what extent they have applied these skills:

Skill 1 - Managing MS Windows Server 2012 (or later) operating systems running in a Windows Hyper-V 2019 environment, and managing MS Exchange 2016 (or later) on premise email and cloud based MS Office365 email systems and the MS Azure environment.

Skill 2 - Support and administration of a TCP/IP based network including support of 2 or more of the following:
- remote access equipment, * the ability to analyse business requirements and produce logical solutions which satisfy customer needs and proactively seek opportunities for improvement in work processes and service delivery;

good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to explain computer concepts to customers in non-technical terms;

the ability to plan and organise a heavy, diverse and unpredictable workload, and deliver high quality work to ICT standards using best practice methods;

the ability to work as part of a team, managing and influencing people and resources to meet agreed plans and objectives
