Job description
The RoleWe're looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Engineer to join our growing IT team, supporting multiple sites across the North of England. This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you'll act as a key technical escalation point and play an essential part in maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure.The role is based in York, with hybrid/remote working available. However, regular travel between sites across the North of England is required. Some weeks will involve significant travel, while others will be primarily office or home-based. All business travel expenses are fully covered.Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support across multiple sites
- Install, configure and support Windows OS and Windows Server environments
- Manage and troubleshoot networking infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs)
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues (desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals)
- Support and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system improvements and IT projects
- Ensure high levels of service delivery and user satisfaction
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior IT support or infrastructure role
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows OS and Windows Server
- Solid networking knowledge and troubleshooting capability
- Hardware support experience across end-user and server environments
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
