Job description

Our public sector client is seeking a Communication Network Controller to manage the control and coordination of communication systems and assist in the efficient operation of the cleansing fleet.

Your Duties:

  • Control and monitor communication systems, including radios and telephones, within the City Services department.
  • Assist with coordinating and utilising the civic amenity site system, liaising with the Transport Supervisor.
  • Handle general public enquiries and resolve complaints or queries in line with council procedures.
  • Relay instructions and messages to staff, ensuring effective communication.
  • Take minutes at meetings and hearings as required.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including using various IT systems.
  • Assist with preparing reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain and issue fuel keys or cards and monitor fuel usage within City Services.
  • Manage the fuel management system and assist with fuel delivery and stocktaking.
  • Participate in induction, in-service training, and support newly appointed staff.
  • Act in accordance with council policies, including customer care, equal opportunities, health and safety, and safeguarding.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, Minimum of 12 months' experience in each of the following:

  • Effective communication, particularly when dealing with the public.
  • Administrative duties, including report writing and service information analysis.
  • Operating substantial communication equipment (e.g., two-way radios or switchboards).
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise workload.
  • Experience working within a team environment.
  • Awareness of health and safety compliance.
