At Barking & Dagenham College, our Media Resources Centre plays an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the college. We're looking for a reliable and service-focused Media/IT Resources Assistant to support staff and learners with reprographics, equipment and media resources across our campuses., Based across our accessible campuses, Barking & Dagenham College prepares young people and adults with the essential skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. Our support services play a vital role in ensuring both colleagues and learners have access to the resources they need to succeed., As a Media/IT Resources Assistant, you'll provide practical day-to-day support within the Media Resources Centre, helping to deliver an efficient and professional reprographics and equipment service for staff and students. The role is a variable hours contract for the initial period of one month, with the possibility of extension/ongoing cover as required.
You'll help maintain equipment, manage stock and consumables, and provide guidance to users so they can make effective use of available resources.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing printing and photocopying services, including finishing work such as binding, laminating and large-format printing
- Supporting staff and students in the use of photocopiers, printers and media equipment
- Assisting with the operation and maintenance of reprographic equipment
- Monitoring stock levels of consumables such as toner and paper and ensuring supplies are maintained
- Maintaining records, inventories and usage statistics
- Ensuring work is produced to a professional standard
- Supporting compliance with copyright and licensing requirements
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
Requirements
Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, We're seeking a dependable and customer-focused individual who enjoys practical work and supporting others. You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a customer-facing or technical assistance role, ideally within a College or Educational setting
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using office equipment and basic IT systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving
- A commitment to health and safety and safe working practices
