Job description
We are looking for a proactive and versatile IT Assistant to support our IT Manager in launching and supporting IT operations at our brand-new site, a start-up environment within our well-established company. This role involves a wide range of tasks, from assisting with technical support and maintaining equipment to handling general office responsibilities as needed. A key part of the role includes providing support and troubleshooting for 3rd party hardware used in warehouse order picking, such as handheld scanners and mobile devices. Flexibility, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to jump in wherever required are essential - no two days will look the same, and you'll play an important part in keeping things running behind the scenes., * Support the IT Manager with a wide range of IT and general operational tasks as needed.
- Provide friendly and effective technical support for hardware, software, networks, and devices.
- Set up, configure, and help maintain computers, printers, and related equipment.
- Assist with updates, routine checks, and general system upkeep to keep everything running smoothly.
- Help monitor and support network connectivity and ensure stable access for all users.
- Take care of user accounts and access rights, including onboarding and offboarding support.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for 3rd party warehouse hardware used for order picking (e.g., handheld scanners, mobile devices, label printers).
- Create and maintain records and keep inventories up to date and assist with documentation as required.
- Coordinate with senior IT staff or external partners when more complex issues arise.
- Assist with other practical tasks around the office to support day-to-day operations.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Office?, * A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrable experience in an IT support or general technical role
- Comfortable working with Windows and Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and equipment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common workplace applications.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and a practical, can-do mindset.
- Clear communication skills and a helpful attitude toward colleagues and users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and step in wherever needed.
- Flexibility towards working hours as required.
Benefits & conditions
This is a full-time on-site position based from Sittingbourne typically working 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be required to support the business during as and when required
