Job description

As the IT Project Manager you seek structure and open communication, you question, set an ambitious pace whilst also balancing the risk. You provide clarity and a keep a constant eye on the time and budget while helping everyone on your team to do their very best work so that you together can ensure there are no watermelons: green status on the outside, red on the inside.

As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects within the verticals of the IT organisation structure. You will be accountable for delivering projects on time and in budget, using both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies, for scheduling and resource planning within the project and you will work closely with Product owners (both within IT and in the business). You will be responsible for projects from initiation to delivery and through to the handover to BAU/operations.

As part of your role, you will also engage closely with the broader Musgrave Change and project management community and the IT Change Management Office (CMO).

What you'll be doing:

  • Working directly with our internal & external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery using waterfall or agile delivery methodologies as appropriate
  • Apply knowledge and experience to projects to produce high quality, value-add outputs and deliverables
  • Facilitate scoping and business priority setting for complex changes, solving problems through collaboration and teamwork
  • Development and maintenance of project documentation, including plans, backlogs status reports, RAID logs etc., dependent on delivery methodology.
  • Identification and management of risks, issues and dependencies
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that business change management requirements are assessed, planned, managed and communicated throughout the project Lifecyle
  • Lead and facilitate meetings, workshops and team events
  • Stakeholder management and senior leadership reporting
  • Define and recognize project Key Performance Indicators
  • Support long term planning activities
  • Become a key contributing member of the Musgrave project management community
  • Work with the CMO Team to evolve delivery methodologies and build excellence in change management

Requirements

Do you have experience in Waterfall?, * IT Orientated Degree

  • Project management qualification (PMP, Prince 2 etc.)

and/or

  • Agile qualification (Scrum.org, SAFe, ICAgile, Agile PM etc
  • 5 + years in project/program management roles
  • Proven track record in project delivery and exceeding customer expectations
  • Waterfall and agile experience
  • Experienced in guiding projects of varying sizes from ideation through to delivery and benefits tracking with accountability for all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable managing the expectations of customers as well as senior management and internal technical staff
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills, an ability to create, communicate and support a common vision and direction
  • Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to confidently prioritise tasks & guide teams
  • Ability to build and foster strong, trusted working relationships
  • Can do attitude to deliver successful projects that will make an impact at all levels
