Job description
We are looking for a Document Controller to support the delivery team on a single major project, ensuring the organisation, accuracy, and flow of all project documentation. You will be responsible for compliance with project-specific naming conventions, revision control procedures, and approval workflows. Working closely with the Project Manager, client representatives, and subcontractors, you will help maintain efficient project governance and ensure information is issued, tracked, and stored correctly throughout the duration of the works. Hours are generally flexible in line with business needs; a fair working policy is in place, and where extended overtime is worked by agreement of the line manager, overtime payment will be applicable., * Provide document control support to the delivery team on a major project
- Oversee the organisation, accuracy, and flow of all project documentation
- Ensure compliance with naming conventions, revision control procedures, and approval workflows
- Maintain correct issuing, tracking, and storage of documentation to support project governance
- Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, and subcontractors to support smooth information flow
- Support controlled issue processes and structured filing throughout the duration of the works
- Assist with permit management or permit-to-work systems where required
Requirements
Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, * Procore experience (essential), ideally within a main contractor environment
- Experience using 1Breadcrumb (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of document naming conventions, revision control, structured filing, and controlled issue processes
- Experience supporting document control on large, complex, or fast-paced construction projects
- Permit management experience or familiarity with permit-to-work systems
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and standard business applications
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
- Comfortable adopting new digital platforms, workflows, and document management systems, * Are you eligible to work in the UK (without sponsorship)?
- Do you have hands-on experience using Procore for document control on construction projects?
- Have you worked as a Document Controller on a large, complex, or fast-paced construction project?
- Are you confident managing document naming conventions, revision control, and approval workflows?
- Do you have experience with controlled issue processes and structured project filing systems?
- Do you have experience with permit management or permit-to-work systems (or supporting permit documentation)?
