Job description

We are seeking a Data Manager who will play a key role in enabling data driven decision making across the organisation. This position will lead the development and implementation of robust data management strategies, ensure high standards of data quality and security, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. This is a pivotal role that will enhance business efficiency, strengthen operational performance, and inform strategic decisions that support the housing association's mission and long term objectives. Importantly, we are a people focused organisation, and this role reflects that. While technical expertise is essential, we are looking for someone who thrives on collaboration, values clear communication, and can build strong working relationships across teams. You must be able to translate technical concepts into meaningful conversations and support colleagues with empathy, patience, and confidence. The Role You will oversee data quality, compliance, security, and end to end data operations, ensuring our information is accurate, consistent, and trusted. You'll lead the delivery of reports, dashboards, analytics, and predictive insights, working closely with senior leaders to turn complex data into clear, actionable intelligence. As joint custodian of our Housing Management System (QL), you will ensure data integrity, system configuration, and reporting all meet operational and regulatory needs. You'll also guide the development of our Data Warehouse and analytics platforms, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with organisational goals. You will provide technical leadership on integrations, data modelling, and architecture, while driving innovation through AI, automation, and digital improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and enhance customer experience. Alongside this, you will lead and develop a high performing data team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Your ability to motivate, support, and communicate effectively with people will be just as important as your technical leadership. You will actively contribute to wider IT management activity, supporting strategic planning and organisation wide digital initiatives.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, We are looking for an adaptable and proactive Data Manager with proven experience delivering business insights, analytics, and reporting in complex organisational environments. You'll have a strong track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively, and delivering change. You will be a confident communicator, able to gather requirements, translate needs into practical technical solutions, and engage stakeholders at all levels in a clear and approachable way. You'll have skills in SQL, relational database management, and enterprise reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, Power Automate), along with experience developing or supporting Enterprise Data Warehouses or BI platforms. You'll also have proven ability to design and maintain data models, data pipelines, and integrations across enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, Housing Management Systems). Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys working with people just as much as working with data, a team player who collaborates naturally, supports colleagues with clarity and positivity, and contributes to a strong, people centred culture.
