Job description

About the Roley client is looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead their technology function and ensure the smooth, secure and efficient operation of all IT systems across their organisation. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will manage day-to-day IT operations, deliver technical projects, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of all IT systems, networks, hardware and software.

  • Lead and develop the IT function, ensuring high performance and excellent service delivery.

  • Manage the company's IT environment, including PCs, laptops, peripherals, networking equipment, printers, scanners, label printers, mobile devices, telephony, and CCTV.

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support and oversee day-to-day IT support operations, ensuring incidents and requests are resolved efficiently.

  • Manage IT budgets, procurement and vendor relationships.

  • Ensure robust cybersecurity policies, monitoring and response practices are in place.

  • Deliver upgrades, installations and infrastructure improvements.

  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

  • Provide technical leadership for projects including cloud migration, system integrations, and digital transformation.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO).

  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.

  • Support staff across the organisation by delivering effective IT guidance and training.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager or Senior IT role, ideally from a Logistics/Distribution industry.

  • Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Saas), and IT security.

  • Experience managing IT projects end-to-end.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are advantageous.
