Job description

The Senior Data and System Consultant reports to our Head of Technical and Systems - Pensions Delivery.

The Senior Data and System Consultant role has responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of installation and other data related projects each year within agreed commercial and risk budgets.

The role will include direct oversight for managing and developing of a team of project managers and business analysts. In carrying out the role you will work closely with the leader of the coding, data, and technology team to ensure resources are deployed in the most effective manner and scheme transitions are delivered successfully., * Responsibility for successful delivery of a portfolio of projects, including the data related elements of scheme transitions and other related pension projects

  • Line-manage a number of more junior staff
  • Engage with leads of related teams (e.g. Data and Coding) to ensure alignment of resource and goals
  • Engage with leads of client teams as required on individual projects
  • In conjunction with colleagues, continually improve processes and process documentation for further commercial efficiency and risk management.

To make an impact in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual who is comfortable taking responsibility for completion of complex data and systems tasks in relation to occupational defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.

You will be a "problem solver" able to liaise with other stakeholders within Spence and our wider Group to identify and deliver solutions to challenging problems.

You will also have the experience positively contribute to the enhancement of our processes and procedures in your area of expertise and managing your workload and against appropriate timescales and budgets.

Working in a flexible environment, you will be prepared to stay ahead of developments within the pensions industry, and the broader business environment, to support our Business in its commitment to excellent client service and our objectives for significant financial growth. You have the ability to share your technical knowledge efficiently and purposefully with clients and colleagues and understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with clients, networking contacts and your colleagues.

This role will be attractive to an existing specialist in the installation and transition space who wants to take on a role that has significant importance to the overall delivery of scheme installation and wider pension projects (e.g. data cleansing, benefit rectification, buy-ins/buy-outs, PPF Assessment Period tasks).

Proven client and project management skills, as well as evidence of the ability to build and manage relationships, will be key to your success in the role.

You will be reliable, methodical and can easily adapt to changing circumstances, continuously producing high level quality work. You will be detail-orientated and have advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel.

Prior knowledge of other industry pension administration systems would be highly advantageous as would knowledge of Alteryx.

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with additional hours as and when required.
