Technical Resources have partnered with a leading UK service provider who are looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking Corporate IT Manager. You'll blend deep technical expertise with strategic thinking-shaping the IT roadmap, working closely with trusted partners, and making sure technology truly enables the business rather than holding it back.
You'll lead a small but capable End User Computing support team and take responsibility for all IT systems and services-both on-premise and in the cloud-ensuring staff have reliable, modern tools whether they're working onsite or remotely. If you enjoy being both strategic and "on the tools", this role will give you the scope and autonomy to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an IT strategy that supports business goals, future growth, and innovation.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across infrastructure, security, cloud, and end-user platforms.
- Own and optimise a secure, scalable corporate network (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, VPN, firewalls).
- Oversee hybrid and cloud environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Manage identity and access via Entra ID (Azure AD), and lead endpoint management with Microsoft Intune.
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity controls (Defender, EDR, MFA, DLP, Zero Trust).
- Lead risk management, incident response, and ongoing compliance with ISO27001.
- Drive and maintain ISO27001 certification, including ownership of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Champion intelligent automation and digital transformation using Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and Power BI.
- Identify, select, and manage strategic IT partners and vendors, building long-term, value-driven relationships.
- Oversee IT budgets, SLAs, governance, and performance to ensure strong service delivery.
- Ensure IT service management is aligned to ITIL principles, continually improving reliability and user experience.
- Design, test, and maintain Business Continuity (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup strategies.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, * Strong networking background (routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, cloud networking).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure environments.
- Proven track record in implementing and managing cybersecurity solutions.
- Practical experience with VMWare and hybrid infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot or similar AI productivity tools.
- Deep understanding of ISO27001, ideally including leading or significantly contributing to accreditation.
- Strong experience in BCP, DR design, backup solutions, and risk management.
- Excellent IT partner and vendor management skills, including contracts and performance.
- ITIL certification and relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure, Security, or M365) are highly beneficial.
- Experience managing IT in a mid-sized corporate environment.
- Confident communicator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
