Business Systems Developer & IT Support

We are looking for a technically capable and proactive individual to join our team in Lincoln to support and develop our internal business systems and office technology.

Our core business systems are built on the Claris FileMaker platform, which supports many of the organisation's operational processes. You will work closely with our lead developer to maintain and improve our existing databases.

Your role will act as the internal bridge between staff and developers, helping support users, assist with system improvements, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.

Alongside the business systems work, this role will also take responsibility for day-to-day internal IT support, including workstation setup, mobile device management, and maintaining the office network infrastructure.

This position is ideal for someone with strong problem-solving skills who enjoys working across business systems, automation, and practical IT support in a growing company environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Systems & FileMaker

• Assist with the development and maintenance of our Claris FileMaker solutions

• Work closely with our external FileMaker development partner on new features and system improvements

• Support system testing, documentation, layouts, and scripts

• Provide internal support to staff using the FileMaker system

• Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and automate processes

• Assist with FileMaker Server monitoring, backups, and performance

Internal IT & Technology Support

• Provide first-line IT support to company staff

• Set up and configure new computers, iPads, and mobile devices

• Manage user accounts, device configuration, and software installation

• Support staff with day-to-day technical issues and troubleshooting

• Maintain internal documentation for systems and IT procedures

Infrastructure & Systems

• Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of company servers and network infrastructure

• Help manage the office 1Gb leased line internet connection and networking equipment

• Ensure systems are running reliably and escalate issues to external providers where necessary

• Assist with backup systems, updates, and general server administration

• Coordinate with external IT providers and vendors when required

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and processes using technology

• Assist with the introduction of new tools or automation to improve operational efficiency

Do you have experience in macOS?, Essential

• Strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to support non-technical users and explain technical issues clearly

• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of internal systems

• Experience configuring computers and mobile devices in a business environment

Desirable

• Experience with Claris FileMaker / FileMaker Pro

• Understanding of databases and business systems

• Experience administering FileMaker Server

• Experience working with macOS environments

• Experience deploying and managing iPads or mobile devices

• Familiarity with networking concepts and office infrastructure

• Interest in automation, APIs, or business process optimisation
