Data Quality Administrator/Administrator

Database Administrator (DBA) who will be responsible for maintaining high-performance PostgreSQL databases and ensuring the overall reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems. This hybrid role combines deep database expertise with modern devops practices such as automation, observability, site reliability, and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Solutions Engineering Manager , based in Madrid in a Hybrid work model. Design, implement, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL databases. Monitor database health, performance, and availability; Oversee daily database operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and uptime. Implement and maintain database security controls and access management. Establish and maintain database policies, procedures, and best practices. Stay up to date with PostgreSQL advancements and recommend improvements. Build and maintain observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) to monitor databases and applications. Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance and availability issues. Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to reduce manual database operational tasks. Support capacity planning, performance testing, and scalability strategies for both database and applications.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA. Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database architecture for high-traffic systems. Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). Solid knowledge of database security, compliance, and access control management. Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals. Proven skills in automation and scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar). Experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Hands-on experience with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL) is an advantage. Advanced certifications in databases, PostgreSQL, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) are a plus.
