Job description

Job Title: Data AnalystLocation: Oxford (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in office)Industry: Financial ServicesSalary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE, A well-known financial services company in Oxford is looking for a proactive Data Analyst to join their analytics team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys digging into data, uncovering trends, and turning numbers into actionable business insights.

You'll work on a variety of projects across finance, operations, and risk, helping to shape reporting and support strategic decision-making. The team values collaboration, curiosity, and a passion for improving data-driven processes.

What You'll Do

  • Analyse complex datasets and extract meaningful insights to support business decisions.
  • Create, maintain, and improve dashboards and management reports.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and provide solutions.
  • Support and enhance data pipelines while maintaining high data quality standards.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and more effective data utilisation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in financial services or a similar industry.
  • Strong skills in SQL and experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting tools for data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, risk, or regulatory data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
