Job description
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving our Data Analytics Platform. You will be working closely with Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to understand and meet their needs.
You're a Data Engineer with a passion for creating well-architected data systems. You obsess over data quality and operational excellence, build clean, efficient data pipelines, and constantly look for ways to improve systems. You see the value in being a data-driven organization.
You're curious about new technologies, both open-source and SaaS. You like to work in a fast-paced environment and iterate quickly while continuing to build for the medium and long term., * Designing and implementing resilient and reliable data systems using tools like Airflow, dbt, Meltano, MLflow, and cloud services
- Managing the orchestration service Airflow's deployment and making sure the DAGs are running as expected
- Developing and managing ELT processes to make the source data usable by teams in the expected freshness, schema, and quality
- Facilitating the data transformation and modeling via dbt
- Administering the data lakehouse Databricks with a Data Governance mindset
- Designing and implementing data quality and alerting systems
- Monitoring and improving the performance and efficiency of analytics systems
- Assisting Data Scientists by providing an MLOps environment via MLflow and serving data apps via Streamlit
Requirements
- Experience with Python and other scripting languages, with a track record of writing clean, efficient code
- Demonstrable experience using core Data Engineering technologies like Airflow and dbt
- Reasonable understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL, as well as modern data warehouses like Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and schema design
- DevOps mindset; experience managing applications using technologies like Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes on the cloud
- Living in the Netherlands
Nice to Have Experience
- 2+ years experience in working as a Data Engineer in a comparable organisation
- Serverless AWS services like Lambda, Kinesis, Data Firehose
- Business Intelligence tools like Looker, Tableau
- Machine Learning technologies like AWS Sagemaker and MLflow
- Hands-on Apache Spark experience
- Experience with event analytics pipelines and real-time data streaming
- Experience in the e-commerce domain
