Job description
Our client is looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer to join their growing IT team and support the stability, security, and performance of their core technology environment.
Reporting to the IT Manager, this role combines infrastructure management and technical support, ensuring business systems run efficiently while delivering a high-quality user experience across the organisation.
As an IT Support Engineer for this role, you will live locally to Ashford and be able to commute daily, time limited right to work will not be considered., * Support and maintain servers, networks, and storage infrastructure
- Provide escalated technical support across hardware, software, and systems
- Administer Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and VMware / ESXi environments
- Assist with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) and infrastructure optimisation
- Implement security best practices, backups, and disaster recovery procedures
- Support hardware deployments, asset management, and documentation
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes.
Requirements
- Team player with a 'can do' attitude, happy to be hands on
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and VMware
- Knowledge of Azure is essential - Linux (Ubuntu) and AWS is a nice to have
- Understanding of networking, storage (NAS/SAN), and security principles
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solution.
