Job description

Shropshire Council is looking for an ICT Desktop Technician to join its ICT Services team and provide 2nd Line ICT Support to the council staff, members, and partner organisations, in particular schools.

The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware and software, as well as supporting local and wide area data and communication networks.

The role also involves planning on-site visits, providing remote support, managing user accounts, enforcing security policies, and keeping up to date with technological advances.

The Desktop support team act as an escalation from our Service Desk and provide advanced support covering a variety of specialised areas, including M365, Networking, Server OS, VOIP, Windows OS, Device Management, Printing and Cloud Services.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Desktop Support operations, a high degree of technical knowledge, experience or working in unsupervised environments and actively work to maintain and update their technical knowledge and capabilities., We're looking for a candidate who has experience delivering and providing ICT support to end users. Excellent communication skills are also critical to this role. You will need to be self-motivating and able to work to key deadlines
