Once appointed, their academic staff status will be regulated according to the applicable faculty regulations
  • Competitive salary according to the candidate's qualifications, as well as financial support for research
  • Workplace: Barcelona

Selection process

In May 2018, EURAXESS awarded Universitat Internacional de Catalunya the HR Excellence in Research Award, ensuring that candidates are selected solely based on excellence criteria. Since 2016, we have also been aligned with the HRS4R (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers) label of the European Commission, which recognises institutions that have advanced in aligning their human resources policies, improving employment and working conditions for teaching and research staff, and enhancing the attractiveness of academic and scientific careers.

The UIC Barcelona selection process includes:

  • Pre-selection Phase: An independent committee composed of internal and external experts will evaluate all submitted applications. Its role is to identify candidates who best match the required profile and determine who will proceed to the next stage.
  • Evaluation Committee Phase: Final candidates will be required to give a public oral presentation before an evaluation panel composed of two external faculty members and one internal member. The presentation should cover the candidate's academic trajectory, including research, teaching, and management. At the end of the presentation, the panel will ask questions to complete the evaluation. The total duration will be 60 minutes. In some cases, candidates may be asked in advance to deliver a 20-minute lecture on a specified topic.
  • Competency Assessment Phase: Coordinated by the Faculty Board, this phase consists of a specific session designed to assess transversal and personal competencies of the two finalists. Activities will be adapted to the candidates' profiles and communicated in advance.
  • Resolution Phase: Final selection and communication of results to candidates
