Job description

To complement our team, we are looking for an SAP Payroll Services Manager immediately or by arrangement. In this role, you are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the HCM applications within the framework of 1st level support via ticketing system and email. You are the central contact point for complex system errors and act as the bridge between end users (HR/PY clerks) and our 2nd level support or IT development. You competently advise cantonal as well as non-cantonal customers in the use of the respective applications and actively participate in the service desk. As a specialist, you take responsibility for operational tasks in HCM application operations. This includes in particular the monthly payroll processing for all cantonal employees as well as all related activities, including account reconciliations in the areas of social insurance, withholding tax, and year-end work. Due to these tasks, you are in close contact with various external partners such as the pension fund, compensation office, and withholding tax office. This broad range of tasks makes your work particularly diverse and varied.

Requirements

You have completed a commercial basic education as well as further training in payroll and/or social insurance, ideally at the specialist certificate level. In addition, you bring solid knowledge of SAP HCM and have several years of professional experience in the payroll environment, preferably in a super-user role. A strong IT affinity as well as the ability to prepare and communicate complex system contexts understandably for end users characterize you. Very good German and solid IT skills are required. Personally, you convince through independence, discretion, teamwork, and precise working methods. Furthermore, you are able to independently develop goal-oriented solutions.

The Personnel Office is the competence center for all personnel, labor, and social security law issues of the over 35,000 employees of the Canton of Zurich as well as many public-law institutions. This area of responsibility also includes the Service Management team, which is responsible for planning and carrying out the monthly payroll processing including account reconciliation, 1st level support SAP HCM, as well as year-end processing.
