As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate data warehouses, data lakes, and modern data pipelines, while contributing to our evolution toward an event-driven, streaming-based architecture.
We are looking for a motivated professional to join our team in Zurich - to start immediately or as agreed.
Responsibilities
- Further develop, operate, and maintain our existing Data Warehouse and Data Lake
- Design, model, and document relational and analytical database structures
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for operational and analytical use cases
- Build and maintain reliable ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Support the evolution toward an event-driven, streaming-based data architecture
- Integrate and process data from event-based sources (e.g., CDC, Kafka, Flink SQL)
- Ensure data quality, availability, and performance across our platforms

Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience as a Database Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a comparable role
- Excellent SQL skills and strong experience in performance optimization
- Sound understanding of database design, data modeling, and normalization
- Practical experience with data warehousing (dimensional modeling, facts/dimensions, SCDs)
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Flink, Flink SQL, Kafka, or CDC tools is an advantage
- High quality awareness, a structured working style, and strong analytical thinking
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
- Very good command of English; German is a plus
