Job description
Applied AI Engineer - London (Hybrid)
We're working with an early-stage AI startup building the infrastructure that allows AI agents to operate within real enterprise workflows - interacting with tools, APIs, and systems just like a human would. They're now looking for an Applied AI Engineer to help bring these agents to production at scale.
What You'll Work On:
- Design and build production-grade AI agent systems used in real enterprise environments
- Develop multi-step agent workflows that interact with APIs, tools, and live data
- Turn external APIs into structured, executable actions for agents
- Improve reliability, observability, and failure handling across agent pipelines
- Build evaluation frameworks to measure and continuously improve agent performance
- Work closely with the CTO to shape architecture and technical direction
What They're Looking For:
- Experience building real-world AI / agent systems in production
- Strong Python backend engineering skills
- Solid experience with APIs, integrations, and workflow automation
- Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or similar
- Experience with structured LLM outputs (Pydantic, JSON schema, validation)
- Engineers who enjoy 0*1 building in early-stage environments
