Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our very busy ICT Infrastructure team. You will work within the ICT infrastructure team, which provides support for ICT equipment and users within the Barnsley Hospital. This team is responsible for the delivery of the following;
Maintenance and development of Server infrastructure, telephony and networks.
Delivery of new infrastructure projects and upgrades.
3rd line technical support for software and hardware.
Cyber security.
Participate in the ICT oncall rota up to 1 week in 3.
You will have in-depth knowledge and experience of modern network hardware and software products and peripherals in a dynamic environment.
The post will be an ICT infrastructure Support post within the Infrastructure team with ample opportunity for personal development., The post holder will be a lead ICT engineer for specialist projects for design, installation, repair, and maintenance of all ICT systems i.e. clinical, acute, administrative and financial areas, the post holder will maintain a high standard of ICT work when carrying out tasks and processes related to;
LAN and WAN Infrastructure (Cisco switches and routers, leased lines, etc.).
Wireless network technologies and standards.
VMware technologies.
SAN technologies.
Core network switching (Cisco).
Server Operating systems such as Windows
IP management DHCP, and DNS.
Network Security (Cisco Firewall, DMZ).
LAN cabling.
Network Management tools.
IP & Analogue Telephony.
Respond to Cyber Security alerts
Disaster recovery experience.
Knowledge of the ITIL Framework.
Lead on ICT Projects.
The post holder must participate in the ICT oncall rota up to 1 week in 3., * Approved MCSE or equivalent

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be educated to HNC/HND level or have equivalent experience in a computing related field and/or evidence of on-going personal technical development.
You must hold a full UK driving license and preferably own your own car, you should also have good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. The ability to work with minimal supervision and the willingness to learn new skills and integrate these into your working time is essential. Due to the demanding nature of the work you should also be flexible and able to work under pressure., * Significant experience of Data Network Support, Management and Administration of Directory Services
- Significant experience of current Network Operating Systems e.g. Microsoft Windows Server
- Significant experience of Helpdesk support for office based applications
- Virtual desktop infrastructure deployment and support.
- SharePoint support & development
- Microsoft SCCM support, * Project management experience
- Previous experience of Sophos antivirus software, * Full driving license, access to a vehicle, * Ability to manage own workload without supervision
- Able to effectively manage work and prioritise activities, * 5 GCSE grade C or above
- Computing Qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent)
