Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and approachable ICT - Student Support Officer to assist students with their Information Technology and Communication needs. This role is essential in helping learners access digital resources, resolve technical issues, and build confidence using technology throughout their academic journey. You will provide hands-on support, guidance, and training to ensure students can fully engage with online platforms, devices, and communication tools.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Learning Assistance

· Guide students over navigating through online submission portals, research tools, and digital libraries.

· Offer one-to-one or small-group sessions on basic IT skills, digital literacy, and safe online practices.

· Support accessibility needs by helping students use assistive technologies.

Academic & Engagement Support

· Monitor attendance, punctuality, and progress

· Liaise with teaching staff to support student retention and achievement

· Assist with support plans for students with additional learning needs.

Student IT Support

· Provide first-line support for students experiencing issues with devices, software, or online learning platforms.

· Assist with login related issues, password resets, and account access.

· Support students in using email, virtual learning environments (VLEs) like Moodle, Canvas, and other communication tools.

Requirements

Essential

· A minimum of bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in an IT Support role.

· Strong understanding of basic IT systems, Cybersecurity, and digital platforms.

· Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, and cloud-based tools.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, empathy, and the ability to support students with varying levels of digital confidence.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.

Desirable

· Experience in an educational environment or student-facing role.

· Familiarity with VLEs (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Google Classroom).
