Job description
- Identifying and owning technical components or solutions that can span multiple projects
- Mentoring other engineers (pair programming, code reviews, feedback)
- Facilitating and management of engineer's career goals and professional development
- Identifying process improvements, and facilitating their implementation.
- Running and facilitating group meetings, and ensuring that actions are completed
- Producing pragmatic and high quality solutions to challenging or complicated problems
- Assisting with technical aspects in RFP responses and taking part in pitches
- Assisting with planning and estimation of medium-large projects
- Taking part in customer workshops, and other stakeholder management initiatives
- Participating in the interviewing process of new team members
- Working with the Head of Technology to steer the future direction of the wider team
Requirements
We are looking for a talented and influential Front End Practice Lead to lead our brilliant Front End team and help create amazing digital products and services for our valued clients.
You will be a problem solver with an inquisitive mind, with the ability to understand requirements and come up with creative technology solutions. You are a natural leader, and will own and be accountable for the work the Front End team produces and the professional development and happiness of your team.
You encourage cross-discipline collaboration between the different teams within the studio, you are always looking for opportunities to improve how we work, and you have great commercial awareness which you use to balance out technical decisions and approaches.

- Experience of working in a fast-paced commercial environment where products have to be delivered to fixed timescales
- Extensive experience in ES6+, React, Javascript, TypeScript
- Current understanding and experience of accessibility best practices
- Experience of integrating with web services / APIs
- A knowledge of JavaScript / Typescript tooling, best practices, testing and optimisation
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, iterative and incremental development
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- A working knowledge of security and optimisation within browser and device
- Experience of TDD and automated acceptance testing practices
- Keen interest in new upcoming web technologies and standards
- Experience working with content management systems
- Experience of using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira
- Great commercial awareness
Nice to haves
- Experience working with React Native or other JS to native frameworks
- Experience with Node.js, Lambda, GraphQL
- Experience within the creative and/or tech industries or an agency background.
